Optical Details
Those flashes of light

Race across the balls

Where beyond convex

Lends little less shadow

Yet it is where darkness

Falls at the back of lids

That will most amaze

With new clarity of vision

Only the view of haze

Which is stumbled upon

May induce a conversion

At edges that disappear

First there is an urgency

To memorize the sight

Of every single object

And shape color and face

Still the minor details

Like the curve of a smile

Is ever so quickly replaced

By the fear of a white cane

While all the other senses

Heighten their activities

A technique in the process

Of loosing optical function

Everything that does vanish

And what is not remembered

Depends on vague swatches

To be filled by imagination
