Lost Words

There was much to be said,

Yet what was brewing inside

Made it rather difficult

Amid the many insecurities.

The paper seemed to flutter

As the inner storm blew

Trying hard to steady the pen

But unable to write any words

How could such a vital message

Ever be sent like this now

With the sheer strength of will

Weakening with each gust of wind

The words would be lost

In between this immediate crisis

And the one sure to follow shortly

But remain etched in memory

To recall when the calm came

With it those placid moments

When, should pen touch paper

Hearts would flutter no more

In these more tranquil times

Which came with less frequency

When the pressure under eustress

Required finding lost words.
