New Plan

In boxes and crates,

And plastic containers,

Were details and research

Of plans she abandoned.

A decade of postponements,

Delays, and disappointment

Kept them in storage

Much longer than intended.

She’d been apprehensive,

Just to think of her work

That lay ahead to be done,

With all she’d set aside.

One by one she sorted

Through her compilations,

Searching for inspiration

Even in the smallest amount.

Where old dusty ideas

Serve another purpose

To bolster the drive

Of current aspirations.

Even if basically kindling,

To set ablaze a new plan

With such burning desire,

That neither can be contained.
