Fulfilling Hobbies

I’ve been plaiting sand

And stoning the breeze

Giving up all other needs

For moments to cherish

I’ve been counting sawdust

And braiding the grass

Ignoring wants right now

Not much else matters

I’ve been using pebbles

To make little pyramids

Never attending to desires

They have become irrelevant

I’ve been weaving chains

With tiny wild flowers

Forgetting all my dreams

Memories of them gone

I’ve been using every instant

To put all my efforts into acting

Like this life becomes fuller

By participating in its emptiness
