Fire often burns to bring it’s change
We forget to honor its flare,
Sometimes starting off so small
At first unnoticed, but it’s there.
It simply requires one fear filled spark
To ignite the flame of doubt in a heart.
It blazes through and brings to question
All that was felt to be true.
The heat of it sears and shatters
So many things that were thought to matter.
Then burning, turning to ash and dust
Much of what had been love and trust.
And when the smoke clears and the embers get cold,
The hearts steady beat still holds.
This rhythm and time turns all that does remain
Into fertile ground for beautiful to flourish once again.
