I’m glad that we met

The experience was worthwhile.

You were the beginning of

A terribly expected change,

And the end of something worst.

So I watch depart the hearse

Transiting our deceased affair,

As I remain without need for tears.

Or ever wanting again

The sadness you brought.

It taught me how to care

For what is past as past,

And all that comes to teach.

Now enjoying the warm sun,

Relaxed on life’s sandy beach.

And I sigh into a smile,

Living now with the pleasure

Of how much change can sweeten.

Tired from hearty laughter

Relieved that it’s all over.
